They fiddle with words and use semantic shift - yes mind control. They do conjuring tricks with words. They tell very clever lies that are designed to trap the unwary. They are a man-trap for Christians. Here's a YouTube I did touching on the subject

Everyone in a Cult, Doesn't Know They Are in a Cult
by The Bethelite inthat's the one thing they all have in common.
because as soon as you are aware that you are in one, you would of course leave it,.
so millions of people all over the world are in them and but of course are ignorant of this fact.. i was asked many times over the years in field service, the question.

What is the biggest doctrinal mistake made by the Watchtower /JWorg. ?
by Finkelstein inpersonally i think it is 1914 and the following " this generation " doctrine.. this particular doctrine went right against jesus's own words of " no one knows of the time not even he " .
he also admonished his true followers to not set a time upon god's own sacred time .. the leaders of the wts even back to the late 1800's set a time calculated on their own theology 1874 being the first time set and proclaimed by c t russell, also proclaiming 1914 would likely be the year of the final day of judgment armageddon.
all throughout the 20th century the wts held to this doctrine but was eventually revised of course when it was realized this generation had passed away who saw the events of 1914. .

They are alluding to the body of Christ though. And I'm guessing its an old idea like the body politic spoken of in Shakespeare.
A body is made up of organs, then they use the word 'organisation' as if this body of people are related by contract/work obligations rather than brotherly love.

Hi Finkelstein - ever considered that that clay tablets could be faked by poor people digging in Babylon and getting paid good money by some wealthy Europeans? Just a thought. Dates may not be all they are cracked up to be.

Saying the number 19 is followed by the number 2.
Jerusalem fell in 19th year of Nebuchadnezzar. They say the year that followed the 19th year of Nebuchadnezzar was the 2nd year of Nebuchadnezzar. (Dan 2:1)
Oh and saying the number 3 is the number 11 (Dan 1:1).
1914 rests on this twaddle as does the GB's authority.

Spiritual 'Pharisaical legal text' makes you 'accountable' if you attend a JW 'JUDICIAL COMMITTEE'
by Nathan R. Koppe inspiritual 'pharisaical legal text' makes you 'accountable' if you attend a jw 'judicial committee'.
'regular' jw's attending a 'judicial committee' automatically and without realising it, both admit to a 'wrongdoing' and 'subject themselves' to jw .org-inisation 'elders'.. it has also been well-documented that jw .org is 'coming after long--term inactive ones, that are causing 'divisions'.. there is a greater emphasis being put on 'shunning' those labelled with 'apostate' (behaviour).. the 'slanderous' naming and shaming of (former) members who have questioned the jw.
org-inisation is relentlessly being propagated in both publications and their gatherings, such as their ironically named 'love never fails' 2019 convention.. ironically, the scriptures they often refer to such as the one at titus 3:10 the original greek word hairetikos, which is translated to the the word “heretic,.

Hi Blondie - yes exactly - one of the 5 elders they set on me, asked me if I still identified as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I replied I stood firm with the words of the Jehovah's Witness called the prophet Daniel. They really didn't like that. They honestly think Jehovah's Witnesses only came about in 1914. They do not identify with the prophet Daniel and the other descendants of Jacob.
I pointed out that the most important descendants of Jacob, was Jesus Christ and I stood firm with him too.
They came very close to saying that the prophet Daniel is not channel Jehovah is using today and that if the GB said Jesus was not the Son of God they'd believe them. In fairness to them they just caught themselves in time, but only just.
So in my absence, 5 men carried out an unwarranted judicial. They were totally ignorant on what the Bible says and refused point blank to open the Bible and examine the matter (which is written up here on a website I did for the GB - http://olam30.co.uk/key/d01_explanation.php). They found me guilty of apostasy for sticking firmly to the words of the prophet Daniel and refusing to change the words in the Bible.
What I mean by that is if Jerusalem fell in the 19th year of Nebuchadnezzar, you can't say the following year was the 2nd year of Nebuchadnezzar (Dan 2:1). Also its a bit much asking us to believe that King Jehoiachin of Judah had an 8th year of rulership (2 Kings 24:12), when only ruled for 3 months and 10 days. Also I refuse to believe that King Jehoiakim of Judah had both a complete and an incomplete reign (Dan 1:1). And for saying this and saying I am certain I am right, one elder has called me irrational.
Anyway, the CoBE got up on the platform this Thursday and said I was not longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Well ok, in one way that term only refers to the descendants of Jacob, but to the congregation it means they think I am no longer Christian. It was a cruel, mean and nasty thing to do. But they did it to my friend Ray Franz and I am not surprised they did it to me.
Oh and at least two elders did look at the scriptures with me privately. They agreed I was right and didn't dare speak up because of what might be done to them.
Remind me what's the name of this year's convention?

What is the inside info on "Reasoning From the Scriptures?"
by stillin ini understand why the witnesses won't actually "reason" from the scriptures; because they will have to come to grips with the fact that others have their own reasons, scripture-based, for believing differently than the jw's.. the "reasoning" book was supposed to arm the r&f with solid scriptural backing that could withstand most in-depth conversations.
so, why is it gathering dust now?
was there some doctrinal issue specifically?.

Hi Stillin - I am putting together a YouTube on p 341 of the Reasoning book - it's to do with the words 'coming' and 'prescence'. I did a stand in talk in 2005 and realised I had never been taught anything about what was on p 341. I also noticed it contradicted what was in Appendix 5B of the NWT.
I pointed out the problem to the elders and got thoroughly told off and intimidated. I was shocked.
So I wrote to GB who passed it back to the elders who were not in a position to change doctrine even if they agreed I was right. So I ended up with one elder privately admitting to me that 50% of what he said from the platform was rubbish.
When I informed some elders of this statement a few weeks ago, one of them ingeniously said, "oh he was probably only joking."
No he wasn't.

Thank you Bobcat
Hi Nathan
The elders asked me if I thought this was Jehovah's Organisation. My response was, "the body of Christ is Jehovah's organisation. A body is made up of organs, if you are the foot and I am the hand, why are you attacking me?"
Then I told them I was trying to raise the alarm on false doctrine so they said they had to keep the congregation clean from people like me. I said, "but if your house was burning down and I warned you, wouldn't you be grateful to me?"
I was then asked, "do you think you are the faithful and discrete slave?"
I replied, "what for warning you your house is burning down?"
When I informed them that the prophet Daniel was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, that floored them. I was told, "well there is a clear divide here."

Thank you Zeb :) And I will pass your message on to Christine as well.
Incidentally, not only is she 80 but she is also lame. She has just undergone major reconstructive surgery (which appears to have been successful). She is making a slow recovery. So at this time in her life, after years of kindness, generously supporting and helping (she is poor) as best she can, she has been thrown out. This is when she most needs help. But now if anyone from the congregation sees her stuggling (say when out shopping), they'll just ignore her.
She wasn't attending meetings anyway. But they decided to go after her because she was so well loved the congregation were unsettle. Oh and she was still involved in a regular Bible study.
Suffice to say Christine isn't on her own. This gross injustice has made it plain to some that the Watchtower tells a pack of lies, cons unsuspecting Christians and seeks to suck the life and brains out of them.

Hi Hoser - that's not been my experience and I was very clear and vocal about it. Even turned up to an elders meeting and told them so.
